The FBI has issued a Public Service Announcement to raise awareness and provide mitigation guidance regarding an ongoing malicious text and AI-generated voice messaging campaign from threat actors impersonating senior U.S. government officials in an attempt to deceive and gain access to personal accounts.  If you receive a message claiming to be from a senior U.S. official, do not assume it is legitimate.
