Communication Assistance

Pursuant to the Judicial Conference of the United States, “[e]ach federal court is required to provide, at judiciary expense, sign language interpreters or other appropriate auxiliary aids and services to participants in federal court proceedings who are deaf, hearing-impaired, or have other communications disabilities.”

 

Please request any communication assistance in advance of the court proceeding, preferably when the proceeding is first scheduled.

 

Access Coordinator

The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas has designated the Federal Court’s Office of Fair Employment Practices to serve as its access coordinator. The Office of Fair Employment Practices is experienced with the Judiciary’s policy of providing reasonable accommodations to persons with a hearing impairment or a communication disability and the types of auxiliary aids and services available.
